Philippe Dallais
Drums and percussion

Philippe studied drums with Kenny Clark, Dante Agostini and Daniel Humair, classical percussion with Alain Hutot and arrangement as well as composition with Jean Gobinet and François Théberge.

He is gold medal at the National Conservatoire of Music in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, he played with Laurent Cugny’s Big Band Lumière, The Maxime Goetz Quartet, and the JLF.

From 1988 to 1993 he played in the orchestra of the world famous Crazy Horse in Paris and in 2002 at the Bal du Moulin Rouge. He also accompanied Barbara Pierce’s dance and choreography. Member of the Klezmer Nova Orchestra since 1996 he has toured in France and all over the world. He performed twice at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2001 and in 2004 at the Spiegeltent, winning a Herald Angel via the Scotsman.

His recordings include: Les Lendemains de la veille (Buddha Musique), Klezmer Nova (Philips/Universal), Delicatessen (Philips/Universal), Si Syphéle m’était conté (Piwek Prod.), The Big Band Lumière by Laurent Cugny, Quartet by Maxime Goetz.
