>> Simon | Isabelle Georges Isabelle received a bilingual education, and studied ballet, jazz, tap, acting and singing. At a young age, she discovered the early American musicals. Her idols were Fred Astaire, Cole Porter, Gene Kelly, George Gershwin, Cyd Charisse, Ginger Rogers, and Judy Garland. At the age of 15 she performed at the famous Cabaret des Champs-Elysées and became European tap-dancing champion. Her career took off with several musical productions: Marilyn de Montreuil, Happy Feet, Phi Phi, Chère Daisy, La Crise est Finie, From Harlem to Broadway… Isabelle played her first leading part at the age of 22 in the highly regarded production of Barnum, after which she starred in Le Passe Muraille (Michel Legrand), Singin' in the Rain (awarded by two Molières), La Perichole (Jacques Offenbach/Jérôme Savary), and Nymph Errant (Cole Porter) at The Chichester Festival in the UK. In Belgium, she starred as Kate McGowan in the European premiere of Maury Yeston's Titanic, the Musical. Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks entrusted her to sing the part of Tzipporah in The Prince of Egypt. In 2002, she created Judy and Me with Frederik Steenbrink, a show dedicated to the woman who inspired her to become a performer: Judy Garland. Isabelle starred in L'Air de Paris, along side Patrick Dupond, and in Et si on Chantait. Besides her theatrical career, she works for television and cinema (L'Un dans l'Autre by Audrey Schebat…) and collaborates with the Yiddish band Sirba Octet. Recently she performed in New York for the launch of Maury Yeston’s new CD December Songs and in Paris for the launch of Something to Live For, her CD duet with famous jazz pianist René Urtreger. Isabelle has recently appeared as Salome and Eve in the French play, Petit traité de manipulation à l’usage des honnêtes gens along side Jean Claude Dreyfus. (Eng. title Small Handbook of Manipulation Intended for Honest People) After a huge success at the prestigious Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2005, Isabelle has just performed Judy and Me at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Australia in June 2007.
